Album Review: Blake Shelton, Hillbilly Bone

For his latest project, Blake Shelton decided to try something a little different.  In order to give his fans more music more often at a price that’s right, Blake has released the first in a series of SIX PAKs, which will feature a total of six songs per album.  Kicking things off is Hillbilly Bone, which is filled with Shelton’s signature attitude, sense of humor and the way of life he loves.

The title track and first single is already a number one hit for the singer and duet partner Trace Adkins and has already proved to be a fan favorite.  On “Kiss My Country Ass,” Blake holds nothing back in defending the redneck lifestyle.  “You’ll Always Be Beautiful” is a sweet love song that declares that even in someone’s less than beautiful moments, love still prevails.  In “I Can’t Afford To Love You,” a high-maintenance woman falls for a good ole boy who can’t keep up her expensive tastes.  Shelton penned “Deliah,” inspired by girlfriend Miranda Lambert’s dog that waited for her owner’s return while Blake was dog-sitting.  In the song, the title character complains of the lack of love in her life when all she has to do is look to the guy next to her.  Closing out the project is “Almost Alright,” which has an almost Caribbean feel.

Hillbilly Bone is available now.
