BEHIND THE SONG: "Highway 20 Ride"
Zac Brown Band takes "Highway 20 Ride" to number one on both the Billboard and the USA Today/Mediabase Country Songs charts. It's the first time a country band has scored four straight number-one hits from their debut album on the major charts.
"Highway 20 Ride" is very personal to lead singer Zac Brown, who describes it as a divorced father's song to his son, whom he only gets to see every other weekend. Says Zac, "I grew up as the child in that story, getting to see my dad every other weekend, and Wyatt [Durette], the guy I wrote the song with, he is the dad in the song. So, it comes right straight out of the heart."
"Highway 20 Ride" is featured on Zac Brown Band's platinum album The Foundation, along with their previous hits "Chicken Fried," "Whatever It Is" and "Toes."
