Kid Rock: Steven Tyler Being on American Idol Is "The Stupidest Thing He's Ever Done"

Kid Rock has never been one to keep his opinions to himself, and he's definitely got one about Steven Tyler being an American Idol judge.  Rock tells Entertainment Weekly that Tyler's decision to be a judge on the singing competition is "the stupidest thing he's ever done in his life." 

While Kid says that Tyler's role in Aerosmith is "a sacred American institution of rock 'n' roll," he feels that Tyler has now taken his legacy and thrown it "out the window.  Just stomped on it and set it on fire."  While he's a fan of Tyler, Rock says the singer "needs some serious counseling" if the decision to do American Idol was made on his own.

Meanwhile, Kid Rock's new album, Born Free, will be released on November 16th.  It'll be interesting to see, after these comments, if any of Kid's songs from the album will be covered on American Idol.
