Artist to Watch: David Nail

For David Nail, it has been a long journey from his native Kennett, Missouri to country music success.  He embodies the idea of not giving up and trying your luck again at whatever dream you may have.  Before David released his debut album I’m About To Come Alive and saw his single “Red Light” peak inside the Top 10 on the country charts, he struggled to find success.

David, in fact, moved to Music City to make a go of it in country music over 10 years ago, but he soon got discouraged and moved back home to Missouri.  Two years past before David gathered up his courage to try it again, but by 2005, he once again was frustrated by his lack of progress.  Instead of packing up and moving home again, David decided to take a break from music and pursue another passion in the meantime – baseball.  He teamed up with an old college buddy to assist him in coaching the Twitty City Knights.  While coaching, David found inspiration to make his third attempt at country music stardom.

This time, things finally clicked.  David created an album, which is available now, that reflected the struggles that he faced throughout his early twenties and picked songs that described life growing up in an American small town.  “Red Light” connected with country fans, and soon David was on his way.  Currently, his follow-up single “Turning Home” is climbing the country charts, and he is on the road as part of Miranda Lambert’s Roadside Bar & Pink Guitars tour.
