BEHIND THE SONG: "Hell On The Heart"
Though he's now a happily married man, Eric Church has lived out the words to his latest single, "Hell on the Heart," which tells the story of a girl who is "pretty as a picture" but can "tear your world apart." He tells us the song is actually based on a girl he and about four other friends all dated at one point or another back in his small hometown of Granite Falls, North Carolina. Eric says, "After she'd blown through one or two of us, you'd think that the rest of 'em would back off...Everyone of 'em tried it, you know, and she destroyed all of us."
As he's performed the tune on the road for the past year, Eric's found that kind of girl can be found all over the country. He tells us, "There's a lot of girls out there that have either been hell on the heart or wanna be hell on the heart, and to most guys, they are." "Hell on the Heart" is the latest single from Eric's sophomore album, Carolina, now in stores and online.
