Single Review: “King of Anything,” Sara Bareilles

People seem to love to give their share of advice especially when it comes to love, but singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles has had enough of that and it shows in her new single “King of Anything.” It is the first song featured from her upcoming sophomore album Kaleidoscope Heart.

Sara jokes to Popeater.com, “’King of Anything’ is sort of a ‘f**k you’ song. I’ve had more unsolicited advice on my life than I care to mention, and this was how I dealt with it. It felt empowering to turn that frustration into music, especially a song that doesn’t even sound angry.” And, the tune definitely doesn’t sound angry with its up-tempo peppy sound which is perfect for spring and summer.

Bareilles is really looking forward to sharing her project with her fans. Sara explains, “I’m beyond excited to share the first taste of the new record. I’ve been in the studio for the past seven months or so, working hard on the next batch of songs. It has shaped up to be something I’m incredibly proud of.”

While fans will have to wait a bit for Sara’s full-length album, they will be able to own their very own copy of “King of Anything” when it is released for sale in June. In the meantime, Bareilles is keeping her fans in the loop with her webisode series which gives a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the making of Kaleidoscope Heart. To view, visit SaraBMusic.com.
