Single Review: Sugarland, Stuck Like Glue
It seems like fans have been waiting for new Sugarland music for a while now as the duo has been busy creating their next musical venture. Fans can always depend on Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush to tap into their seemingly relentless creativity and emerge with something unique and different and Stuck Like Glue is no exception. The song is the debut single from Sugarlands upcoming fourth album The Incredible Machine which is due to hit stores in October.
Stuck Like Glue is slightly reminiscent of the duos All I Want to Do, the debut single from 2008s Love on the Inside album, with its cool groove and cant get it out of your head chorus. Jennifer and Kristian seem to take that feel to a whole new direction with Stuck Like Glue by filling it with a dash of funk and a dose of reggae and rap for good measure. Sounds crazy, right? But, before you can wonder what the heck is going on with this country track, youre sucked in by Jennifers trademark twang on vocals that seem to be done with a wink and a smile. And, when that infectious melody takes hold, you find yourself in the same spot as the people in the relationship described in the song; you keep being pulled back in for more.
Sugarland is always keeping fans guessing about what they might do next, and if Stuck Like Glue is a good indication of their steampunk-inspired The Incredible Machine project, we all should be looking forward to an interesting ride when fall rolls around.
