Psychic Soccer Octopus Dies

Bet he didn't see this coming. Paul, the octopus who gained worldwide fame for his pinpoint accurate predictions in the latest World Cup, has died.

The german sensation was found dead in his tank this morning (Oct. 26). At 2 1/2 years old, he lived up to his natural life expectancy, and his death was deemed to be the result of natural causes, said Ariane Vieregge, spokeswoman at the aquarium where he resided in Oberhausen, Germany.

Paul the Octopus was perfect with his predictions in the world's greatest soccer tournament over the summer, choosing the victor in seven games Germany played in, as well as picking Spain to win in the final match with the Netherlands.
