Weezer Covers Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart"

Weezer's forthcoming album, Death to False Metal, features songs that were recorded for their earlier albums but never made the final cut.  One of those tracks is a cover of Toni Braxton's smash R&B; hit, "Unbreak My Heart," which is currently available for download at the band's website.

Frontman Rivers Cuomo told AmericanSongwriter.com that the cover, which was recorded back in 2005 for their album Make Believe, "was actually [producer] Rick Rubin's suggestion."  He admitted that he and Rubin both loved the song and that "we both thought it would be great for Weezer, and for my voice, and it’d be great to do like a rock version of it with more of an alternative aesthetic."

Death to False Metal will be in stores on November 2nd along with a re-issued version of Pinkerton.  Weezer's upcoming Memories tour kicks off on November 26th in Los Angeles.
