Red Hot Chili Peppers Headlining Rock in Rio Festival
The Red Hot Chili Peppers don't have a new album out yet but they're already booking shows for their return next year. The Rock in Rio festival, which takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from September 23-25, September 30th and October 1-2, has announced that RHCP, along with Metallica and Snow Patrol, will serve as headliners. More performers are expected to be announced soon. Tickets will go on sale Friday, November 19th at RockInRio.com.
RHCP went through a lineup change recently, recruiting Josh Klinghoffer for lead guitar after John Frusciante left the band. Frontman Anthony Kiedis has said that the band are currently in the studio and have begun recording new songs.
