Patrick Stump Confirms Solo Album, Soul Punk, Due in February
Former Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump will finally be releasing his debut solo album, Soul Punk, this coming February. The singer has already posted the handwritten music sheet to a song called "Spotlight" on his website. The first verse goes, "They might try to tell you how you can live your life/But don't, don't forget it's your right/To do whatever you like, you like/'Cause you can be your own spotlight."
Speaking to MTV.com. Stump confirmed that "Spotlight" would be "the first Soul Punk song people hear, and that will happen very soon." He later confirmed that the album would be released in February and "as can be inferred from the long delay, it's changed dramatically from the album I alluded to a year ago."
As for the long delay regarding Soul Punk's release, Stump said that it's because he wants "to make sure I go to sleep at night knowing I'm not half-assing this."
