Muse Represent Rock at American Music Awards
To no one's surprise, Sunday night's American Music Award winners were dominated by pop, hip-hop and country acts, but there was one rock winner. Muse were named Favorite Alternative Music Artist, beating out Phoenix and Vampire Weekend. They were the only rock nominees on the awards, save for AC/DC, who were nominated for Favorite Soundtrack, for Iron Man II. That award instead went to Glee the Music Vol. 3: Showstoppers.

If you're interested, teen pop superstar Justin Bieber won the most awards of any nominee, with four -- that's every category in which he was nominated, and includes Artist of the Year. At 16, he's the youngest artist ever to win that award. One interesting highlight from the ceremony was unintentional. After announcing the winner for Favorite Soul/R&B; Male Artist, Hillary Scott of the country act Lady Antebellum could clearly be heard saying, "We f**ked it up," meaning the presentation. So much for squeaky-clean country. The American Music Awards were broadcast live on ABC.
