Lollapalooza Festival Headed to Chile
The Lollapalooza Festival, founded by Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell, will not only be in Chicago next summer but also Santiago, Chile. Ferrell and the Chilen promotion company Lotus Producciones will hold the first-ever Lollapalooza in Latin America from April 2nd to April 3rd in O'Higgins Park.
Ferrell's reason for bringing Lolla to Chile was because "The city provides the culture, hotels, restaurants and clubs. Then, most important, are the people. The people of Santiago have a passion for contemporary music and lead international lifestyles."
Ferrell also said that he plans on bringing some of the local Chilean bands that play Lollapalooza in Santiago up to the festival in Chicago next summer. He calls it a "musical foreign exchange" but he's not sure which bands will make the trip just yet. Dates for Lollapalooza in the U.S. have not yet been announced.
