My Chemical Romance Boycotts Arizona Performance
My Chemical Romance have canceled a performance in Tempe, Arizona on May 24th, 2011 because of their affiliation with the group The Sound Strike. The group, which was started by Rage Against The Machine frontman Zach De La Rocha, consists of artists and bands that refuse to play in Arizona because of the state's passing of the controversial immigration law SB 1070.
The law gives police the right to detain anyone they think may be in the U.S. illegally. MCR released a statement which apologizes to their fans for "a horrible scheduling oversight on our part and for this we are deeply sorry." The rest of their tour dates can be found at their website.
