Weiland Holiday Album Postponed

Although Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland recently revealed that he was anticipating the release of his first ever holiday album, the project has been delayed until next year. The project, using the working title Most Wonderful Time Of The Year, was announced by Weiland in an interview with .

The singer revealed that the recordings eschewed grunge versions of holiday songs in favor of more traditional sounds. The holiday classics will pair Weiland's tenderest croon with "stringgs, upright bass, jazz horns, piano and guitar," and will feature a reggae rendition of "Little Drummer Boy."

"I'm sort of picking various versions of these songs, because they've been covered so many times, but my favorite versions - with a little twist," the singer said.

Stone Temple Pilots have also announced that they were looking forward to releasing a new album in 2011, so that may hold fans over until next Christmas.
