Halloween

In John Carpenter's 1978 classic, Michael Myers escapes from a psychiatric hospital in the midwest and goes on a bloody rampage. The film is widely considered one of the most influential horror films of its time.

The Shining

Stanley Kubrick's 1980 adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name is one of the scariest psychological thrillers ever made. The Torrance family takes on the responsibility of overlooking a large hotel during the wintry offseason, only to begin to see disturbing images from the hotel's past. Jack Nicholson's eerie performance as the maniacal father is not for the faint of heart.

The Amityville Horror

Based on the book of the same name, this 1979 film tells the story of the Lutz family who move into a house where a mass murder was committed a year before. They begin to witness a horrifying series of paranormal activities forcing them to flee less than a month later.
