Darius Rucker's New Album, Charleston, SC 1966, Due Out October 12th

Darius Rucker's new single, "Come Back Song," is now at radio.  It's the first release from his next studio album, Charleston, SC 1966, due out October 12th. The project's title refers to the place and time of Darius's birth, and it's also a nod to Radney Foster's solo debut album, Del Rio, TX 1959. Darius points to Radney as one of his main influences, telling the Victoria Advocate, "It was really the first time where I had heard country music where I thought, 'Man, I could sing that.'"

Darius wrote more than 75 songs for the new album, but only 12 made the cut. "We just listened to them and saw what was rising to the top," he says of the song selection process. Fans of Darius' breakthrough country album, Learn to Live, should find a lot to like about Charleston, SC 1966. Darius says, "I think this record is more of an expansion of the last record than anything else. It's like picking up where the last record left off." Darius has also cut a duet with Brad Paisley for the new album.
