A.P. and Sara Carter

The Carter Family is "The First Family of Country Music."  The original Carter musical group consisted of A.P. Carter and his wife Sara (they eventually divorced), along with his sister-in-law Maybelle (pictured here with the guitar).  The Carters were influential in putting country music on the map.
