Merle Haggard

The Hag still ranks number one when it comes to the Male Vocalist of the Year category at the ACM Awards.  Merle Haggard has collected the prize six times, beginning in 1966.  The last time he was at the podium for this trophy was 1981.  In 2009, Merle was awarded with the ACM Poet's Award for his songwriting talent.
