An Ivy League grad (from Brown University), Mary Chapin Carpenter released her first album Hometown Girl in 1987, but her biggest album was 1992's Come On, Come On which spawned seven singles including "I Take My Chances" and "He Thinks He'll Keep Her," both of which she wrote with ledgendary songwriter Don Schlitz. Songs that she didn't write or co-write are rare among her projects.
