Barbara Streisand
Famous singer Barbara Streisand started her film career with a bang. Her first role was in the 1968 Broadway adaptation of Funny Girl, which she had previously been cast on the stage. Her performance earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress that year. However, she shared the honor with Katharine Hepburn, the first time in Oscar history when two actresses split the award.
