Buck Owens

A lot of country fans know Buck Owens as one of the craftsmen of the Bakersfield sound and the voice behind such hits as "Act Naturally" and "(I've Got a) Tiger by the Tail," but they may not know that Buck really wasn't his name. He was actually Alvis Edgar Owens Jr., but when he was three or four years old he decided to name himself Buck after the family mule.
