Courtesy of Roger WatersFounding Pink Floyd singer/bassist Roger Waters will join the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Robin Williams on the bill of Stand Up for Heroes, the annual charity event that raises money to help support injured servicemen and women. Event producers have revealed that Waters is cooking up something special for the show: namely, he'll be performing with a band comprised of veterans.
The November 8 event at New York City's Beacon Theatre will also feature John Mayer, Ricky Gervais, Patton Oswalt and Jon Stewart. The musical performances will be streamed live starting at 8 p.m. on YouTube and on Remind.org, which is the website of evening's beneficiary, The Bob Woodruff Foundation.
This is the sixth year of the Stand Up for Heroes benefit. In the past five, more than $10 million has been raised to help the Bob Woodruff Foundation support wounded military members, veterans and family members.
