From web-slinging superheroes and Caped Crusaders to pesky kids to those who are more of the animal nature, we've got 'em all right here for your costuming inspiration. All of these fictitious characters made it onto the big screen in some form or fashion so that makes them more than worthy of contention... except for maybe our last candidate. Who really wants to inhabit the characteristics of someone who was a box office bomb?

Spider-Man
In 2002, Tobey Maguire took on the title role in Spider-Man, co-starring Kirsten Dunst as his love Mary Jane Watson. In the first of the three movies starring Maguire, Spider-Man faced off with the Green Goblin, played by William Dafoe, and had to deal with the murder of his uncle Ben Parker who raised him and also told him, "With great power comes great responsibility." The series of films is based on the Marvel Comics character that first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in 1962.
Richie Rich
In the midst of Macaulay Culkin's massive popularity, he took on the role of Richie Rich. The world's wealthiest kid first became known to the American public in 1953's Little Dot #1 from Harvey Comics. In the movie, Richie desperately desires friends his own age and fights to save his family's fortune.
Batman
Batman first appeared on the big screen in the 1940s, but the movies series was rebooted in 1989 with Batman, starring Michael Keaton as the Caped Crusader and Jack Nicholson as The Joker. Throughout the years, the superhero has been portrayed by the likes of Val Kilmer, George Clooney and currently Christian Bale, who first took on the role in 2005's Batman Begins. The character of Batman made its debut in the late 1930s in the Detective Comics series.
